NNZ publishes Sustainability Report 2024

Results and ambitions towards 2030

NNZ has released its Sustainability Report 2024, presenting an overview of the results we achieved last year and our ambitions towards 2030. The report outlines how we work step by step towards a more sustainable packaging industry. It also shares the steps we take together with customers, employees and suppliers to create positive impact across the packaging value chain.

Within our strategic programme Sustainable Partner of Choice, we focus on three pillars that guide all our activities: customers, employees and suppliers. These are the links where we have direct influence and, through collaboration, can create the greatest impact.

  • Customers: innovation and circularity in packaging solutions

  • Employees: a safe, inclusive and engaging workplace

  • Suppliers: a responsible and transparent supply chain

A selection of results of our sustainable progress in 2024

The results from 2024 show how these pillars translate into measurable progress. They demonstrate our commitment to circular packaging solutions, responsible supply chains and positive social impact in local communities. By addressing both environmental and social challenges, we are strengthening the foundation for long-term sustainable growth.

  • 96% of our packaging materials are designed for recycling, actively contributing to circularity in the packaging value chain
  • 97% of our suppliers have signed our Supplier Code of Conduct, safeguarding our standards on ethics, environment and working conditions
  • 43% of management positions are held by women, reflecting our commitment to an inclusive organisation with equal opportunities for all
  • 47 tonnes of CO₂ compensated through a joint solar energy project with a key account, a concrete example of partnership on climate impact
  • Support for 14 community initiatives worldwide, from education in Bangladesh to healthcare in Denmark, strengthening local communities
  • Increased share of renewable materials in our packaging portfolio, reducing dependency on virgin fossil-based resources

The results illustrate how our daily choices and partnerships contribute to measurable impact. They form the basis on which we continue to build, as we move towards the ambitions set for 2030.

A selection of our ambitions towards 2030

  • 52% reduction in CO₂ emissions across our entire value chain (scope 3), equal to approximately 80,000 tonnes of CO₂, achieved through partnerships, material innovation and transport optimisation
  • 100% of our packaging recyclable or reusable – minimising waste and promoting circularity
  • High customer and employee satisfaction, maintained and further improved through continuous dialogue, innovation and collaboration
  • 100% of our suppliers in compliance with our Supplier Code of Conduct
  • Zero Harm target, no lost time incidents and achieving a safety index of 100%
